Rooted in Creativity,

Grown Through Community

Youth Arts Festival

3rd Saturday of September, from 9 am- 3 pm.

The Dillsboro Creative Arts Center Festival is a special one-day celebration dedicated to inspiring the youth of our community through art, creativity, and hands-on experiences. The festival gives local children the opportunity to explore the arts, get their hands dirty, and create their own unique works alongside talented regional artists and makers.

Each year, the JCGEP/DCAC welcomes dozens of artists, craftspeople, and community organizations who generously share their skills, knowledge, and passion for the arts. Visitors can enjoy live demonstrations of glassblowing, blacksmithing, pottery, woodcarving, printmaking, and raku kiln firing, while also experiencing live entertainment, great food, and family-friendly fun throughout the day.

What makes this event especially unique is the sustainable energy that powers it. The metal forges and glass furnaces used during demonstrations are fueled by renewable landfill methane gas captured from a nearby closed landfill — transforming an environmental challenge into a creative community resource.

Artists throughout the festival enjoy working directly with children, encouraging them to participate, experiment, and discover the joy of making art by hand.

Food trucks will be on-site throughout the event. Please note that parking will not be available inside the park. Shuttle service will be provided from remote parking locations on WBI Drive in Dillsboro, North Carolina.
